There is NOTHING in the world like a GREAT song. One of the best was a hit single from the final album of the duo Simon and Garfunkel. Name any singer and I bet he/she has at the very least performed it if not recorded a cover version of it. Strangely enough, I ATTEMPTED to do a karaoke (there’s that word again… truely frightening) version at a cousin’s wedding. When I feel weary, small, and tears are in MY eyes, I often think upon this song and it is like a warm blanket. When you’re weary, feeling small,
When tears are in your eyes, I will dry them all;
I’m on your side. when times get rough
And friends just cant be found,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
When you’re down and out,
When you’re on the street,
When evening falls so hard
I will comfort you.
I’ll take your part.
When darkness comes
And pains is all around,
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will lay me down.
Sail on silver girl,
Sail on by.
Your time has come to shine.
All your dreams are on their way.
See how they shine.
If you need a friend
I’m sailing right behind.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind.
Like a bridge over troubled water
I will ease your mind.
good song. I’m going to have to find the LeAnn Rimes version – love her voice. And Johnny Cash and Fiona Apple? That’s a random duo.
